Naukri Boolean Search for RMS

Naukri RMS does not read plain Boolean the way an ATS does. Its box takes AND / OR / NOT, and its form carries experience and location; this page adds a field-code layer on top — one function per code, joined with AND. The rules below mark which parts Naukri documents and which are ours.

One brief, one Naukri string

FP&A Manager, 8+ years, financial modeling and SAP, Bengaluru:

Naukri RMS — field-code string

title("FP&A Manager" OR "Finance Manager") AND skill("financial modeling" OR "variance analysis") AND skill("SAP") AND exp(8) AND location("Bengaluru")

Lint this string

Spelling matters. Bengaluru is also written Bangalore; search (location("Bengaluru") OR location("Bangalore")) to cover both. If your seat rejects location(), set both spellings in the form's location filter instead.

Plain-Boolean fallback — if the codes are rejected

("FP&A Manager" OR "Finance Manager") AND ("financial modeling" OR "variance analysis") AND "SAP"

Set 8+ years and Bengaluru on the search form: this string carries no experience or location code, so the form is where those filters belong.

The four field codes

CodeSearchesExample
title()Job titles the candidate has heldtitle("FP&A Manager" OR "Finance Manager")
skill()Skills and tools on the profileskill("financial modeling")
location()Preferred or current citylocation("Bengaluru")
exp()Years of experienceexp(8)

If your RMS form already exposes experience and location as filters, set them there and keep exp() and location() out of the string. That route needs no field-code guesswork.

Test the field codes for free

Naukri offers a free Resdex demo before purchase. Paste the string above into the demo's keyword box: if the field codes are real, that is where you will see them parse. The demo is Naukri's own and availability varies by region and account. Without it, paste the same titles and skills as plain Boolean and set experience and location on the form.

Want to settle the field-code question yourself? The sheet has the seven pastes and a column for the count. It contains no candidate data.

Naukri syntax rules

  1. 1

    Lead with title(...). Every Naukri string this product writes starts there, and it is what our dialect detection keys on.

  2. 2

    Field codes only. Google operators (site:, intitle:, filetype:) are literal text in RMS, not operators — the most common reason a pasted string finds no one.

  3. 3

    Quote multi-word phrases inside the codes: skill("financial modeling"), not skill(financial modeling). Our generator also quotes single words; that is our formatting rule, not a Naukri requirement.

  4. 4

    Join codes with uppercase AND; join alternatives inside one code with OR.

  5. 5

    No exclusions. The strings this product writes carry no NOT term by design: a negative silently drops qualified profiles who merely mention the word, and you never see who you lost. Run broad, filter by eye.

Naukri search FAQs

Why does my Naukri Boolean string return nothing?

Usually a dialect leak: a Google operator (site:, intitle:, filetype:) or a plain ATS string pasted into a box that does not parse it. Strip the Google operators first. Then either rewrite with the title() and skill() codes below, or paste the same keywords as plain Boolean and set experience and location on the search form — that route needs no field codes at all.

What is the exp() field code?

exp() asks for years of experience: exp(8) for a role that needs eight. If your seat exposes experience as a from/to filter on the form, set it there and leave exp() out of the string — the form range is the documented route and the safer one.

Can I generate Naukri strings from a JD automatically?

Yes. The JD to 3 strings tool converts one brief into ATS, X-Ray, and Naukri strings free (3 a day, no login), and the workspace generator writes all six dialects — including Naukri RMS — from the live brief.
